PEI Aquaculture Alliance

PEI Aquaculture Alliance
The PEI Aquaculture Alliance was dealing with some online complaints from disgruntled seasonal residences claiming their member's "noisy" boats, barges and leases where disturbing the natural beauty of our Island scenery.

As ridiculous as that sounds, the Alliance did recognize that they could be doing more to educate audiences on the values, beliefs, approach, and processes that go into the farming of PEI fin fish, oysters, and mussels - enter the 'Farmers of the Sea' campaign.

My goal with this 90s video was to capture the spirit of a seafood farmer, and communicate the sense of pride, responsibility, duty, and respect these genuine, hard working men and women have for our island waters and what it helps them produce.

"Getting the chance to experience different industries close-up is one of the major perks of being a video producer.  As someone who hasn't spent much time on the water, I look back on this shoot with much respect and appreciation for the folks behind the farming of our world-renowned seafood."
